CodeRED is a community notification system provided to allow a city or county a method to push emergency, non-emergency, and weather-related messages to citizens via phone, text, and email. While emergency alerts may be pushed to landline phones which are synced to the 911 database of landline numbers at various intervals, alerts via cell phone and email must be requested by individual citizens. Although the term “reverse 911” is used by some to describe this service, it is not actually a function of the 911 authority, but rather the Emergency Management Director of each city and county. Please note that efforts to sign-up for notifications by persons who do not reside within the respective jurisdiction may be automatically removed without notice. CodeRED employs automated tools to validate information submitted during the sign-up process.
